Tyrone All-Ireland winning duo John Devine and Davy Harte have already landed medals this month as part of the Ulster side that overcame Munster in the Inter-provincial Championship final at Ruislip, London. Now the Errigal Ciaran pair are focussed on further success — but this time with a team from 'enemy' territory. They jointly coach the St Patrick's GS Armagh side that will meet Omagh CBS in the Ulster College's Rannafast Cup decider at Dunmoyle, Errigal Ciaran's headquarters, tomorrow (11am).  

Omagh accounted for St.Pats Maghera in the quarter final before coming from behind to beat Abbey CBS last Saturday morning on a 1-6 to 0-7 score line. In that semi-final Omagh were slow to get going and it was the Newry lads who led 0-4 to 0-2 at the break after an opening half hour that saw both defences very much on top. Centre half forward Ruairi Bradley hit both of Omagh's points from frees but the pattern of the game changed in the seventh minute of the second half when they struck for the only goa  

Following the international weekend, there were still a number of international games left to be played featuring Fulham players on Wednesday. There was disappointment for Damien Duff and Stephen Kelly on Wednesday evening after a spirited Republic of Ireland performance in Paris ended in a controversial aggregate defeat. Duff set up Robbie Keane's first-half goal and Giovanni Trapattoni's men had certainly done more than enough to force the tie into extra-time.  

Giovanni Trapattoni has pulled no late surprises from the hat by naming the same starting XI that went down 1-0 last Saturday for tonight's second leg of the World Cup play-off at Stade de France. French coach Raymond Domenech has made just the one change, bringing in Sevilla centre half Julien Escude for the injured Eric Abidal. The 30-year-old has played three games in qualifying, two alongside Gallas, and gets the nod ahead of Sevilla team-mate Sebastien Squillaci.

AIB League round-up:After three defeats to start the competition and just one win, Shannon proved that they remain very much in contention in Division 1 A of the AIB League with a decisive 21-15 victory over Blackrock College at Stradbrook on Saturday.  

Defending champions Shannon overcame the early loss of injured captain Mossie Lawlor to post a deserved 21-15 victory over Blackrock College at Stradbrook this afternoon, with Limerick Gaelic footballer Stephen Kelly scorching through for two first half tries.
